The Synopsis
The story is based on The Count of Monte Cristo. However, there are new twists and turns in this animated version. For those of you who don't already know the story of Monte Cristo, the short and sweet version is: A man was betrayed by his best friend, a judge, and a banker, and sentenced to life imprisonment for a crime he didn't commit. He returns several years later, bearing the title of Count and filthy rich with gold discovered on his escape journey home, to find his once-betrothed married to his best friend, the judge at the highest seat of the court, and the banker a rich moneylender. The Count discards his morals to seek the ultimate revenge.
